STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY: A Campaign to FREE ANIMALS from needless suffering at Chatuchak Market.

My Story
My name is Nat. I was born and raised in Bangkok, and like many people here, I grew up knowing Chatuchak Market as a place of color, food, and life. But when I walked into the pet zone, I saw something I will never forget.
Tiny cages stacked high, animals crying, some sick, some already dead. Birds with broken wings, reptiles lying in their own waste, small mammals pacing in circles with no hope.
And then, in 2024, the fire came. More than 1,000 animals burned alive in their cages. Their screams were heard, but no one could save them. After the smoke cleared, the cages were filled again, as if nothing happened.
This is not the Bangkok I want the world to see. This is not the Thailand I am proud of.
Why We Must Act Now
Chatuchak Market is not only cruel, it is dangerous. It is a hub for illegal wildlife trade, where animals are stolen from the wild, smuggled across borders, and sold like souvenirs. It is also a public health risk, with dirty cages and sick animals creating the perfect conditions for new diseases.
But there is hope. With enough support, we can liberate these animals and return them to freedom.
The Liberation Plan
With donations to Go Vegan Thailand, we can begin a project to rescue animals in large numbers and release them back into their natural homes.
First Steps: The Easiest Animals to Free
-
Native Thai birds (mynahs, bulbuls, doves): already adapted to our climate, they can fly free with little rehabilitation.
-
Native reptiles (turtles, lizards): hardy and strong, they can be released into wetlands and forests quickly.
-
Small mammals native to Thailand (squirrels, civets): easy to transport, and they can adapt back to forest life fast.
These animals are the easiest to move first because they belong here. They do not need long quarantine or complicated relocation. Every cage we empty is a life returned to freedom.
How Your Donation Helps
Every donation to Go Vegan Thailand helps fund:
-
Rescue operations to remove animals from cages.
-
Veterinary care for the sick and injured.
-
Rehabilitation centers where animals recover before release.
-
Campaigning and pressure on authorities to finally close the pet zone of Chatuchak Market.
A Call From My Heart
I am just one woman from Bangkok, but I know I am not alone. Around the world, people care about animals, about justice, about compassion.
The animals cannot speak. They cannot ask for help. But we can.
๐ Donate to Go Vegan Thailand today.
๐ Share this campaign with your friends.
๐ Be part of the movement to free the cages.
Together, we can turn Chatuchak Market from a place of suffering into a story of hope. Together, we can give back the forests, the skies, and the rivers to the animals who belong there.
Final Words
I want Thailand to be known not for cruelty, but for kindness. I want tourists to see our elephants in sanctuaries, our birds flying free, our forests alive with sound — not cages of suffering.
With your help, with your donation, we can make this dream real.
Let us free them.
Let us heal Thailand.
Let us show the world compassion.
